Desktop Support Specialist
Seeking a self-motivated professional to support our IT Department. Ideal candidate will assist staff with technical support of desktop computers, mobile devices, applications, and related technology. Support includes installation, testing, training, and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. To ensure seamless upgrades and software deployments through structured testing procedures and delivery methods. The position's responsibilities require independent analyses, good communication with all user levels and problem solving.
Qualifications:
- An Associates Degree in Computer Science plus three to five years of relevant computer experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Advanced knowledge of personal computer hardware and software applications.
- Knowledge of desktop provisioning, cloning / imaging and maintenance utilizing desktop management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of help desk and desktop troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to identify potential network issues based on symptoms visible at the desktop level.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate procedures and problems and recommend effective solutions.
- Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to deal effectively/courteously with a wide variety of company users who have varying levels of computer understanding and experience, as well as outside vendors and consultants.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
